Everything that I have

The fifth of June every year is celebrated as World Environment Day(WED). This year the theme of the WED is ‘Many Species. One Planet. One Future’. Let us ask ourselves how far have we really Celebrated this day with a real sense? Is it that we just remembered our environment only on June 5th while pollute it the whole 364 days? Look around us; what did we find? When the theme for this year is choosen, I believe that the theme speak loud and clear sending a message to all of us for the need to preserve all different types of species. The Flora and Fauna, that helps to bring an ecological balance on the whole planet. All species plays a vital role in this planet. Just think if there are no more trees, what will be the consequences? the ultimate truth is, no animal shall live.

Hence, this year let us make a vow, to preserve all kinds of birds, animals, insects, plants, flowers, trees etc so that we can really proclaim proudly the word “Many Species. One Planet. One Future“.

Mynta ka por jong nga la kut,
Ban iai shong sah bad pha nga kwah,
Mynsiem ka dap da jingpang nud,
Jingkynmaw ieit shirta kin sah.

Saramati, Hostel jong ngi,
Burom jong pha kan iai phyrnai,
Por hi ia nga kan lam lynti
“Hawow ka sngi ji phi ngan ji”

Poetry Scribbled by me on 7 – July – 2004 when I’ve to vacate my hostel. I just found it back yesterday from my Diary.

Let summer come and Shillong will remain cool. Amidst the summer’s heat, down came the rain, giving life and bringing in the cool clear weather. But sometimes when the rain didn’t stop it became too cold that you’ve got to wear pullover.

Its been three weeks that rain started to fall around Shillong area, and in some occasion hail comes along. Today is a bright sunny day and little too hot for me. I wish the rain is back and hope that the dry season be over soon.

We the children of the ought to pledge today to our mother nature, to preserve, to love and to care. The world is shattered by the different advancement in development. Forest and green hills, beautiful clear streams are becoming polluted. Human race has become a disease to the planet. The only thing that we don’t realize is, “We are burning our own house to get rid of lice”.
The obvious question now is, how do we save earth? Well that is a question. We can do by helping out in one way or another.
Try not to spend on something not needed. As much as possible try to recycle all resources (except your toilet paper), encourage walking if your job is only a few Km away. Use public transport and minimize the cost. Use energy efficient appliances at home or work. Plant trees, flowers, fruits etc wherever possible.
With these few words I believe we can make a better world…
